Consults with government leaders on various aspects of current and planned operations and services in order to identify those activities, conditions or situations which may create a risk of loss of property or injury. Analyzes and evaluates such risks in order to determine their significance to the economic welfare of the government and the extent to which they can be eliminated or minimized. Provide regular analysis of claims losses, near misses, incident reports, to recommend specific safety programs to address emerging liability and worker's compensation issues. Prepare regular presentations to the government on loss trends, recommended loss control programs to address such losses, and quantify where possible, the return on investment for loss control programs. Determines and recommends the appropriate risk management technique to transfer or reduce risk to the government. Coordinates with Legal Departments and/or outside counsel on any claims involving potential litigation issues. Provides safety training to Government employees, as needed. Prepares a Quarterly Risk Management Report summarizing the risk management program, its objectives and accomplishments. Review all written EHS programs for government, offer support for developing compliant safety programs where necessary to develop and address any compliance issues with regard to safety. Conduct facilities inspections with the emphasis of promoting safe places to work. Issue timely reports of inspections with recommendations to government regarding improving site safety. Follow up with government on as-needed basis to resolve implementation issues concerning recommendations. Review any liability concerns/ hazards that concern government. Work with governmental agencies to resolve cross-jurisdictional safety concerns.
